The humans who wanted them killed were called bloodthirsty and callous. Certainly the move, by the United States Department of Agriculture, raised a lot of questions about geese and humans, one of the less polite being, “What good are geese, anyway?”
“What good are people?” might be the obvious retort, but the question can’t be so easily dismissed.
People own the parks and the golf courses that geese carpet with droppings,.
