It's a nightmare on Fashion Street. W, Elle and Vogue, three of the most followed style magazines in the world, ended up featuring variations of the same Prada dress on their latest covers.
Though the appliqued dress from Prada's diffusion line Miu Miu appears in different colours, there's no fooling fashionistas. While the British Vogue cover shows Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen in a tangerine version, singer Lily Allen and actress Eva Mendes appear in lilac lace and yellow for UK Elle and US glossy W respectively. The comedy of errors has been compounded by the Swedish Elle also featuring model Mona Johannesson in the lilac dress.
Celebrities around the world are sometimes caught wearing similar dresses; it is far less common for publications that are considered the last word in haute couture to go so horribly wrong. Press officers of big fashion houses like Prada are careful not to offer the same outfits for rival photoshoots.
